President Gitanas Nausėda congratulated President Sauli Niinistö of Finland and all the people of the country on 105th anniversary of the Independence Day of Finland.
In his message of congratulations, the President highlighted the friendly bilateral relations between Lithuania and Finland and the excellent cooperation on security issues.
“Our countries share the same values and goals: respect for human rights and freedoms, democratic principles, geopolitical security in the region, green energy, and the North-South infrastructure links. Our common approach to key security, political and economic challenges underpins successful cooperation within the European Union and at the Nordic-Baltic regional level,” the message of congratulations reads.
President Gitanas Nausėda pointed out that Finland’s membership in NATO would contribute in a major way to the security of the region and, at the same time, to bilateral relations between Lithuania and Finland.
“Our bonds of friendship as well as the development of joint initiatives in science and innovation, especially in the areas of biotechnologies, renewable energy, financial technologies, engineering, and logistics, will certainly add to expanding mutually beneficial economic cooperation,” the President wrote in his message of congratulations.
Gitanas Nausėda stressed that today EU unity was crucial for Ukraine, therefore, we had to continue to stand united and give our full support for Ukraine as it fought for its freedom and for the future of Europe.
